Short answer

Organic marketing means attracting customers with content and presence, without paying for reach. In 7 steps: define your customer, choose 1 or 2 channels, post useful, real content, keep a pace, reply to conversations, measure messages and sales, and repeat what works. It takes months, but what you build compounds.

Posting every day and selling nothing is more common than it seems. Organic marketing works when it has a purpose: that the right person sees an answer to something that matters to them and writes to you. These are the steps to achieve it without spending on ads, with the 30-day plan we would use in a real business.

What is organic marketing?

It is all the reach you get without paying for it: your posts, your Google profile, your website and the conversations you generate. Its advantages are credibility and cost. Its disadvantages are time and the fact that algorithm changes affect reach. That is why it makes sense for personal brands, ventures with a limited budget and local businesses.

Why is it worth your time in the Dominican Republic?

Because the audience is connected. DataReportal estimates that at the end of 2025 there were 10.5 million people with internet, 91.0 % of the population, and 7.89 million social media identities as of October 2025. An “identity” is an account, so one person can have several; take it as an order of magnitude and not as a head count.

A large audience does not guarantee they will see you. You compete with everything that person sees in a day. What sets you apart is usefulness.

The 7 steps

1. Define who you are talking to

Not “everyone”. Write in one sentence who your customer is, what problem they have and where they look for solutions. The questions people ask you on WhatsApp are the best source: copy ten, exactly as they write them, and you already have ten post topics.

2. Choose one or two channels

Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn or Google. Choose where your customer already is and where you can keep up the pace. The size guide for each network saves you from redoing designs. Before posting, tidy up your profile: how to optimize your Instagram bio takes less than an hour and is the first thing visitors see.

3. Post useful, real content

Mix three types:

  • Practical tips from what you do every day.
  • Behind the scenes: how it is prepared, how it is made, who makes it.
  • Real results and testimonials, with the customer’s permission.

Use your customer’s language, not a brochure’s. Every piece should be answerable in one sentence: “this is useful for…”.

4. Keep a pace you can sustain

Decide how many pieces per week you will make and schedule them. Consistency weighs more than intensity. A realistic pace for a small business: three useful pieces a week and one hour a day to reply.

5. Reply and converse

Every comment and every message is an opportunity. Take the conversation to WhatsApp when there is interest, and handle it calmly with the tools in the WhatsApp Business guide. A reply that works: greet, repeat what the person asked, answer with a figure or a concrete step and propose the next step. If you only send “DM us”, you lose half of them.

6. Measure what matters

Do not count only likes. Count messages received, appointments booked and sales, and write down which post each one came from. On Instagram, Adam Mosseri himself, head of the platform, pointed out three ranking signals in January 2025: watch time, likes and sends. He recommended checking average watch time, likes per reach and sends per reach in Insights, according to Social Media Today. It is a third-party reference, so confirm in your own Insights which data the app shows you today.

What you post What you want to happen How you measure it
Practical tip People save or send it Sends and saves per reach
Behind the scenes People get to know and trust you Watch time, comments
Result or testimonial People write to ask for a quote Messages received that mention it

7. Repeat what works

Every month, check which pieces generated conversations and do more of that. Drop what never gets a response.

A 30-day plan (example)

It is a framework to organize the month, not a real case:

Week Focus Deliverables
1 Foundation Bio and profile in order, 10 customer questions written down, calendar of 12 pieces
2 Post 3 useful pieces, reply to everything the same day
3 Converse 3 more pieces, move conversations to WhatsApp, note the source of each message
4 Measure Check which piece brought the most messages, repeat that format the following month

A figure from our own blog

Useful content compounds. On our blog, the two image size guides for social media and WhatsApp had 1,585 and 758 views in 12 months according to Google Analytics 4. The first 16 articles we removed for having no audience added up to 78 views in the same period. A piece that solves a concrete question pays off for years. One that only fills the calendar does not.

Organic and paid complement each other

When an organic piece proves it generates messages, you can give it budget as an ad to speed it up. It is a cheap way to test which message is worth paying for. Before spending, review the most common Google Ads mistakes. And if your website does not get visits from Google yet, organic includes SEO: the same answers you post on social media can live as articles.

Common mistakes

  • Copying a big account’s style without having its audience.
  • Posting without a clear action. Every piece should invite something: writing, saving, visiting.
  • Giving up after three months. The organic effect compounds over time.
  • Not replying in time. A message that comes from a post goes cold within hours.

Frequently asked questions

What is organic marketing?

It is the reach you get with your own posts, your website and your presence, without paying to show them. It relies on useful content, consistency and conversation with your audience.

How long does organic marketing take to show results?

Usually months. If you need sales this week, combine organic with low-budget paid ads.

Is organic or paid advertising better?

They do different jobs. Organic builds trust and compounds; paid speeds things up. A healthy business uses both with separate goals.

How often should I post?

As often as you can sustain for months. Three useful posts a week for a year are worth more than a month of daily posting followed by silence.

How do I know which post worked?

By the conversations and sales it brought, not by the likes. Write down every message that arrives and which post it came from. On Instagram, also check watch time, likes per reach and sends per reach in Insights.

Does organic marketing work in the Dominican Republic?

Yes: according to DataReportal, at the end of 2025 91 % of the population used the internet and there were 7.89 million social media identities. Your customer is already there, but so are your competitors.
